Mark Doorbar

CEO

Mark Doorbar is CEO of Safe Patient Systems with over 20 years of experience in business strategy, marketing, execution and leadership gained with some of the best known international consumer goods and technology brands in the world. His commercial experience in developing Companies and brands through focused strategy, a customer focus and clear differentiation in highly competitive markets is a core skill and one that he is successfully applying to Safe Patient Systems.

Over the past 5 years, he has led the business to develop the UK’s leading mhealth solution, Safe Mobile Care that has been proven to enhance healthcare service delivery and positive patient outcomes for people suffering from Long Term Conditions.

Mark’s career started at Cadbury Schweppes where he worked in sales and marketing before moving to work for a number of major FMCG organisations, including Pepsi International and Allied Domecq,  prior to moving into the technology and mobile sectors with Sendo International and Palm Computing in senior marketing and general management roles.

David Morgan FRCS

Medical Director

David Morgan BSc, MB ChB, FRCS, FRCS Otol. is a Consultant Otolaryngologist and Clinical Director of ENT Services at Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust as well as an Associate Professor at the Clinical Research Institute at the University of Warwick. He qualified at Birmingham Medical School in 1981 and undertook surgical training in London, Boston, Sydney, Hong Kong and Bombay. He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Birmingham and Warwick Medical School and was the Surgical Specialty Advisor to the National Patient Safety Agency (2000-2006). In 1999 he co-founded Medicdirect Ltd, a health information website.
In 2005 he founded Safe Patient Systems Ltd following a 10 year privately funded research programme into the medical applications of expert computer systems. He is also a main board member of Medilink – West Midlands and on the AIM Healthcare Special Interest Group.

Steve Pinnell

Operations Director

SteveSteve joined Safe Patient Systems in 2008 as Head of Programme Management and is now the Operations Director for Safe Patient Systems. He is responsible for leading the software, test and customer support team delivering cutting-edge mobile health products to our customers. He brings over 15 years of engineering leadership and experience delivering leadership technology products gained with some of the largest technology organisations in the world – prior to joining Safe patient Systems, Steve has been involved in a number of leading technology projects, from working on Motorola’s first 3G base-station and Panasonic’s first colour mobile phone through to the world’s first mobile phone offering HD video playback.


Damian Ferguson

Finance Director

DamianDamian Ferguson joined Safe Patient Systems in 2016. He is an experienced Finance and Operations Director having worked with a number of fast growing and entrepreneurial companies in various industries including telecoms, automotive, aerospace, retail and publishing. He brings leadership and expertise in business strategy coupled with strong commercial and analytical skills and joins the team at an exciting time.


Adrian Boar

Head of Information Systems & Customer Support

Adrian Boar joined Safe Patient Systems in 2014 as Head of Information Systems & Customer Support. He brings 20 years’ experience of managing IT infrastructure, software development, hosting environments and database development. He is responsible for all aspects of technology, both in-house and third-party, and also leads the customer support and device configuration teams. Adrian has been involved in a number of large-scale telemetry projects outside of mhealth solutions, most notably helping develop a prototype system between Leeds University and The Met Office for improving the calibration of radar rainfall estimates.
