Safe Patient Systems recruits top talent to accelerate growth
The company has strengthened its Board with the appointment of a new Chairman, Colin Cobain and Chief Operating Officer, Mark Doorbar. Colin Cobain, former CIO of Tesco PLC joins as Non-Executive Chairman. Colin has over 30 years of experience in creating and delivering successful strategies which apply technology to deliver commercial benefit on a global stage. In his last role at Tesco, he step changed the in-store operations of Tesco through the introduction of RFID and mobile computing technology. In September 2007 he was voted CIO of the Year at the fifth annual CNET Networks UK Business Technology awards.
Colin said: "The business has identified ways of using leading edge technology to effectively enhance patient safety and improve healthcare delivery. Given the current Government and NHS focus on patient safety, the time could not be better for Safe Surgery Systems to benefit given its outstanding product solutions that have been proven in the hospital environment".
Mark Doorbar, former Senior Marketing Director at Palm Mobile Computing, joins as Chief Operating Officer and has over 20 years experience in sales and marketing at a UK and International level. He has a track record in providing strong leadership to build brands and businesses alike across packaged goods and technology sectors.
Mark Said: "The Safe Surgery System business has successfully identified solutions that leverage technology in a smart and simple way to solve ‘real' problems in the healthcare sector. The fact that these solutions have been designed by clinicians and technology experts in the medical world is pivotal to our success.
